Family Law Attorney
As a farm boy from New England Glenn Slate understands the value of honesty and hard work. After graduating with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in psychology, Glenn Slate felt pulled to the practice of law. He graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School right here in Portland and opened his own practice in 1994.
Glenn has always been drawn to family law and at least half of his career has focused on helping families navigate this incredibly stressful arena. Divorce is often very adversarial, and much of it is made worse by the actual system. Glenn’s goal as a family lawyer is to protect his clients’ interests without creating more damage. He believes developing a strategic case plan and staying in constant communication with his clients not only helps them stay on track with what is truly important but also helps empower his clients to make positive decisions for their future.
The two most important qualities in Glenn’s life are his integrity and his honesty. Glenn is a bit of a white knight and his hobbies reflect that. He has studied multiple martial arts for years, taught fencing and self-defense and participated in tournaments with various kinds of swords. One of his wise instructors gave him a piece of advice he uses in family law: the most important thing you can do in a battle, is to convince the other side it’s not worth the fight.
Glenn’s ten years as general counsel for a high tech ecommerce company, and his experience in real estate and business litigation bring dimension to his experience, which directly benefits his family law clients. He has had the honor of being awarded several Client’s Choice awards, received the highest rating an attorney can achieve on AVVO and has been rated as a Top Ten Divorce Attorney in the State of Washington.
When Attorney Glenn Slate tells his clients “I’ve Got This,” they know they’re in good hands.
